There is plenty to look forward to in 2021 in the Corinth area. This coming spring brings area events and festivals that all families will enjoy. From art and music festivals to hands-on family events, you can keep your kids entertained while spending much-needed time together. Huffines Kia Corinth recommends adding these events to your spring itinerary.

A special gallery of 77 works selected for exhibition at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center will include works from 28 states and nine countries, including Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Finland, Israel, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This selection of amazing craftsmanship will present a variety of media, such as metal, glass, wood, plastic, ceramic, fiber, and mixed media.

They can also participate in rock climbing, various rides, and music for all ages. Don’t forget about visiting the Easter Bunny! He will appear at the Eggstravaganza to wish you and your children a very happy Easter.
Denton Arts and Jazz Festival
The Denton Arts and Jazz Festival will take place this April 23-25 at Denton’s Quakertown Park and Facilities. This festival has become known as one of the finest entertainment and art events in the North Texas Metroplex area. Stemming from the belief that all art forms should be made available to the general public, this annual celebration is a free event with no charge for admission.
There are a variety of musical exhibits for both adults and children to enjoy. Six outdoor stages, each with seating for 5,000 individuals, and one indoor stage that can accommodate up to 200 people are set up. Roving musicians share their beautiful talent with those in attendance at the festival throughout the day.
While there are plenty of musical melodies and rhythms to savor, there is also a wide range of activities and exhibits for adults and children to experience. The Art Show features outdoor booths full of craftsmanship by artists from all over the United States, including Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Arkansas, Oregon, and beyond. Fine art is housed inside the Denton Civic Center, while arts and crafts are outside. You’ll discover clothing, metal and wood crafts, jewelry, paintings, candles, dolls and accessories, and more in the crafts area.
After browsing the arts and crafts show, take your family through the children’s interactive displays. The Children’s Art Tent contains 15 different stations where kids can engage in such activities as clay and flower sculpture, tangram art, stamp art, collages, drawing, and more. In the Children’s Wood Tent, kids of all ages can take a piece of wood and create whatever their hearts desire. The Percussion Petting Zoo, a hands-on exhibit with percussion instruments, will actively engage your little ones by allowing them to make music with various equipment and gear worldwide.
Of course, we cannot forget the other various children’s activities throughout the festival. Face painting, rock climbing, inflatables, and a playground await your kids when they’re done exploring the art tents.
When it’s time to eat, your family will not be disappointed. There are six food courts to choose from, all containing a wide selection of cuisine, including German sausage, hot dogs, corn dogs, shish kababs, burgers, and other delightful meats. When you need something for that sweet tooth, choose from cotton candy, funnel cakes, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and ice cream. If international flavors are what you wish the most, you can enjoy Asian, Cajun, Mexican, Greek, and Italian fare that will more than satisfy your appetite. Don’t forget the beverages! Bottled water, beer, wine, soft drinks, coffees, and more are always available.
Fish N’ Fun
Another free event for families across the Corinth area, the Fish N’ Fun is a chance for kids to experience the joys of fishing at Meadowview Park on May 1. While the event is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, fishing poles, doughnuts, and juice will be free to families.
There will be first-, second- and third-place trophies awarded to each age group. The three age groups are:
- Ages 5-7.
- Ages 8-10.
- Ages 11-13.
Whether your kids have years of experience fishing or this will be their first time, you and your family will surely enjoy the anticipation and excitement of catching fish.
Which of these events will you add to your family calendar? Did we miss any of your favorite festivals? If so, please let us know. We’d love to share them with other families in the Corinth area. Simply contact us, and we’ll be sure to add them to this list.
