KIA offers advanced and modern technology that will not only keep you entertained but also safe on the road. Here are a few innovative technologies currently featured in KIA models.
The UVO System
This system, short for “Your Voice,” consists of various features that are either standard or available with most KIA vehicles. Three different UVO suits are available.
This suite offers a range of standard and available features, including
- Emergency services, which adds 24/7 roadside assistance and an automatic 911 service that is activated if an airbag deploys.
- An infotainment system that offers a 7-inch display, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. Available features include an 8-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, SiriusXM, HD radio, and navigation.
- A maintenance and diagnostics system that will remind you when a service appointment is due, allow you to run a quick diagnostic check, and alert you if there’s a critical issue with your KIA.
- The My Car Zone service will allow you to keep an eye on your KIA if you aren’t driving it. You can set curfew and speed limits and delineate restricted areas for your KIA.
If you’ve opted for a KIA EV or a plug-in hybrid model, you’ll have access to the UVO Eco suite. This will allow you to check what the battery charge status is, help you find charging stations, and allow you to set charging schedules. With this service, you can also start your KIA remotely and turn on the heater, defroster, or air conditioning.
This suite will give you access to the Prestige Club, which is a concierge-like service that provides a dedicated service representative. With the UVO Luxe service, you can also remotely start or stop your car as well as control the interior climate.
KIA’s DRIVEWiSE suite consists of advanced driver-assist technologies that will help keep you safe on the road. Included in this suite are features such as blind spot detection, smart cruise control, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and park distance warning. The smart high-beam assist system will automatically dim the high beams for oncoming vehicles, while low-beam assist will adjust the lights when taking corners to illuminate your path.
Active Noise Control
This technology keeps the cabin quiet by identifying the frequency, volume, and tone of noise traveling into the vehicle. It then creates an inverted sound wave with the same attributes, thus canceling the noise.
Some KIAs come with a head-up display system. This projects some of the vehicle’s vital driving-related data, such as the navigation and driver-assist systems, onto the windshield glass ahead of the driver. This means you don’t need to take your eyes from the road to review this information.
KIA’s advanced technology will keep you comfortable, entertained, and safe on the road. If you want to check out this advanced technology, pop in at Huffines and take a KIA for a spin.
