The 2018 Kia Forte comes with the excellent technology of Android Auto. This allows you to connect your Android phone to your vehicle so that you can seamlessly and safely communicate and stay connected while you drive. These are some of the things you can do once you connect your phone to your new Kia Forte.
Make Hands-Free Phone Calls
Android Auto allows you to make and receive phone calls without taking your hands off the wheel. Talking on a handheld phone while driving is incredibly dangerous as well as illegal in most states. By connecting your Android phone to your Kia Forte, you don’t have to worry about pulling over every time your phone rings.

If you want to make a call, you can easily talk to Google and access your phonebook by telling Android Auto who you want to call. The call will connect and come through your car’s speakers so you don’t have to hold the phone to your ear.
Listen to Your Music
Android Auto allows you to listen to the music stored on your phone’s Google Play playlist. You can also access your Spotify account or listen to the podcasts you have downloaded to your phone.
Your 2018 Kia Forte has a screen in the center console where you can control Android Auto and select any of these apps without ever having to pick up your phone. For hands-free control, simply use voice command and tell Google what playlist or app you want Android Auto to open for you.
Access Google Maps
One of the great things about Android Auto is being able to find different destinations and navigate to them without having to know an exact address. Simple use the “OK Google” voice command and tell the system where you want to go.
If you are still parked, you can skip the voice command and simply select the Maps app on the touch screen in your Forte. This will open Google Maps to search for the destination, and then you can select which route you want to take to your destination. Google will then give you turn-by-turn directions over the sound system.
Auto-Reply to Text Messages
When you connect your Android phone to your Kia Forte, Android Auto automatically sets up an auto-reply message that will be sent to anyone who sends you a text. This allows you to keep driving and gives you time to safely pull over to reply. You can customize the message by going into the Android Auto app settings and selecting auto-reply.
If you set up OK Google in your car, you can also do text-to-speech while you are driving. This will read your text messages over the sound system so that you know if something is urgent or not. To set this up, go to the setting on your phone and select language and input. You can adjust your text-to-speech settings from there.
There are a lot of reasons to get a 2018 Kia Forte, but Android Auto is an excellent feature that you’re sure to love. Stay connected no matter how long you need to be behind the wheel.
