These tours only happen six times a year, and the spring tours are even more special because you might get a chance to watch some of the baby foals galloping around. Not only will you be able to see everything from Arabians to Thoroughbreds, your tour also includes a barbecue lunch at Oak Meadows Ranch.

North Texas Book Festival

On April 7, the North Texas Book Festival celebrates local and national authors and their books at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. You can start the day by signing up for the Chuckwagon Breakfast to enjoy your meal as you listen to author Janet Sever Hull and illustrator Vicki Killion Guess speak. As you walk around the festival, you’ll find plenty of other authors at booths doing readings, autograph signings, and question and answer sessions.

Denton Redbud Festival

The Denton Redbud Festival is the official Arbor Day event for the city, and you can enjoy it at the Denton Civic Center on April 21. This fun community festival features dozens of vendors selling gardening products, trees and plants, landscaping services, and handmade crafts. You can also take part in one of the free workshops about tree care, landscaping, and gardening. Kids will be entertained with the tree-themed story time and inflatables, and everyone will enjoy the live music and festival food.
Denton Arts and Jazz Festival
At the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival, you can celebrate jazz and art with a variety of activities. On April 27 through 29 at Quakertown Park, you can enjoy this free event that features six outdoor stages, one indoor stage, and several roving musicians. If you want to enjoy art, check out the juried art show, fine art exhibition, and arts and crafts area.
