Theatres in the Corinth Area

Theatre Frisco

People have been performing live theater shows for thousands of years. The art of live theater continues to grow and change with the advancement of technology, improving visitor experience and making you a part of the show. Although you’re not the one acting on a stage, at live shows the actors feed off your energy and there’s a palpable excitement in the air. It’s an experience that you just can’t replicate in a movie theater. So grab your friends, buy tickets to a local live theater performance, and see if you fall in love with the performing arts.

The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre (GLCT) resides in the oldest building in Lewisville, built in 1885. The unique and historic building has changed over the last century, from a dry goods store to a church and later a theater, but it’s perfect for the GLCT who bought the building in 1997 and renovated it into an intimate theater. The GLCT is proud to adopt the Chicago Theatre Standards as a cultural paradigm shift for creating a safe environment. The GLCT is a community-centered cultural arts organization that is strictly volunteer-based and produces year-round high-quality theatrical shows.

The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is located at 160 West Main Street in Lewisville.

Theatre Frisco

Since 1985, the same group of volunteers has put on four plays a year at Theatre Frisco. They use the Black Box Theater at the Frisco Discovery Center as their play venue. You’ll find classic and contemporary shows at Theatre Frisco, like Jerry’s Girls, Something Rotten, A Gentleman’s Guide, and Same Time Next Year. A branch of Theatre Frisco is the Frisco Improv Players, an improv comedy troupe that performs clean comedy every month at the Black Box Theater. The improv comedy shows follow a similar format to the hit TV show “Whose Line is it Anyway”.

Theatre Frisco uses the venue of Black Box Theater which is located at 8004 Dallas Parkway in Frisco.

Lakeside Community Theatre

The Lakeside Community Theatre (LCT) has a mission to educate and entertain the community through artistic, charitable, and educational performing arts with local talent. The amateur group of volunteers focuses on actively engaging the community through their performances. The LCT is offering a play you can stream on demand while preparing for their next shows; Greenday’s American Idiot and La Cage Aux Folles. LCT members can choose from several levels of sponsorship with varying benefits.

The Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) in Flower Mound is just one branch of the national CYT program. If students want, they can choose to work behind the curtain as part of the backstage crew, costume committee, makeup committee, or technical team. Their mission is to develop character and creativity, bring families and communities together, and provide quality theater training.
