Ferris wheel in TexasThe DFW area is popular for numerous reasons, but one of the best things about visiting or living here is the fact that you’ll never be short of things to do. No matter what time of year it is, there are fun happenings going on somewhere around town. These are some of the festivals and events going on in the Dallas area this fall.

Denton Mac N’ Cheese Fest

This dairy festival is exactly as tasty as it sounds. Prepare a big appetite, and head to Oak St. Drafthouse and Cocktail Parlor in Denton on Sunday, Oct. 28 starting at 2 p.m. You’ll be treated to a fun event focused on this staple dish. Up to 40 different kinds of macaroni and cheese will be available to sample, and the event will conclude with the crowning of a Macaroni King.

This event will be held rain or shine from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Presale tickets are available for $10.

Polish Festival

The Polish Festival is another exciting happening planned for October in nearby Denton. This first-ever running of the event will feature culturally relevant food, presentations, dancing performances, games, craft vendors, and music. More things to do will be available away from the main stage. Admission is free, but it costs $1 for each game and food ticket.
This festival is scheduled for Oct. 20. and will be held at 1700 Riney Road. It will start at 11 a.m. and end at 8 p.m.

Day of the Dead Festival

This fun seasonal event is expected to be one of the most popular in Denton this fall. This free gathering will celebrate Dia de los Muertos — The Day of the Dead — and Halloween. You can expect classic activities like a costume contest and a pumpkin patch as well as some one-of-kind spectacles, including coffin races, a twilight lantern parade, and Cirque Du Horror — a macabre yet family-friendly reading of poetry and short stories along with some live music.
The Day of the Dead Festival will take place at E. Hickory and Industrial Street with events scheduled throughout the day.

Trunk or Treat in Fort Worth

“Trunk or Treat” events are becoming more popular in local communities. The event is exactly what it sounds like: Instead of dressing up and going door to door for candy, you join the community and go from car trunk to car truck collecting sweets. This is a safe alternative to residential trick or treating but is even more fun.
The Texas Connect Realty annual Trunk or Treat event is scheduled to take place in Fort Worth at Fair Texas Title Parking Lot, 4445 Oak Park Lane Suite 101. Come by to collect Halloween goodies and enjoy the festivities from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is a free event.
Dallas and the surrounding cities are full of things to do. As the weather gets cooler over the next month, you can look forward to attending some of these incredible festivals this fall.
