The 2021 Kia Sorento‘s standard infotainment system operates from the 8-inch touch screen and the steering wheel-mounted audio and hands-free calling controls. Bluetooth wireless technology offers hands-free calling and multi-device audio streaming capability. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay enable you to make calls, send texts, play your favorite tunes, and access the apps on your smartphone directly from your car’s touch-screen display.

USB ports in all three rows, along with front and rear 12-volt power outlets, ensure that everyone can keep their device batteries fully charged. The six-speaker audio system includes HD radio, and in the S trim and above, satellite radio, so you can tune in to a vast choice of radio stations or stream your favorite music. EX models and above offer a wireless phone charger. SX and SX Prestige models give you a 10.25-inch touch screen with an integrated navigation system and voice control. The top-of-the-range Sorento SX Prestige enhances your listening pleasure with a premium Bose 12-speaker sound system.

UVO Link

All but the LX trim give you access to UVO link connectivity with its many convenient features. With the in-vehicle notification center, you can get important vehicle information, including the maintenance schedule and warranty info. When used with the Kia Access app, UVO can help you find your car with its vehicle location tracker. You can even get a notification on your compatible smartphone if the Sorento senses movement inside while you’re not in the vehicle.

If you have two or more compatible Kia vehicles, you can sync and share specific settings between them with your connected user profile. UVO finds the quickest route using vehicles’ real-time and historical traffic data with the available integrated navigation system. The system can also connect you to roadside assistance or, if you’re in a collision, automatically call 911 for you.

Convenience and Comfort Technology

The top four Kia Sorento trims feature a smart key that enables you to unlock and lock your car and even start the engine without having to fumble for your key. The EX trim and up also offer a convenient smart power liftgate that opens automatically when you stand behind the car with the smart key in your pocket or bag. This feature can be invaluable when your hands are full.

One-touch sliding and folding second-row seats enable easy access to the folding and reclining third-row seats. All but the LX offer 10-way power-adjustable heated front seats, while the SX and SX Prestige feature a power-adjustable passenger seat. The top trim adds perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Depending on the trim you select, your Sorento can come with the basics or the best of the best.

A standard 4.2-inch multifunction display in the instrument cluster provides you with essential vehicle information. SX Prestige models feature a customizable 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display.

Driver Assistance Technology

Helping keep you on track in the Kia Sorento are the standard electronic stability control, traction control, and torque vectoring cornering control. Hill-start assist makes pulling away on a steep incline simple by keeping the brake pressure on for a short time after you take your foot off the brake pedal.

Confident and safe stopping is provided by the four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. All-wheel-drive Sorento models feature a torque-vectoring AWD system that automatically adjusts the power between the front and rear axles according to the road conditions for optimal traction.

Kia Drive Wise

The Sorento also offers Kia Drive Wise, a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies like having an extra pair of eyes. Every Sorento trim level comes standard with driver attention warning, leading vehicle departure alert, lane-keeping assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection.

Rear occupant alert notifies you with visual and audible warnings if there is anyone in the rear seats when you leave the vehicle. You’ll also get a notification on your smart device if you have UVO link connectivity. Also standard is high beam assist, which detects oncoming vehicles and automatically switches the headlights to low beam. To help with reversing, you get a rearview camera with dynamic parking guidance. The tire pressure monitoring system alerts you if the pressure in any of your car’s tires drops below a specified level.

Stepping up to the S trim gives you blind-spot collision avoidance, parallel exit assist, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist, and rear parking sensors. Safe exit assist alerts passengers to an approaching vehicle when they’re getting out of the Sorento. The EX trim adds forward collision avoidance assist with cyclist detection and junction turning, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go, while the SX offers highway driving assist.

The range-topping SX Prestige features an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a surround-view camera system, front parking sensors, and reverse parking collision avoidance assist. Additionally, a blind view monitor uses a mirror-mounted camera to give you a live video of your blind spot in the digital instrument cluster.
