Check In to Downtown Historic Denton for Entertainment and Fun

Tuesday Bike Night in Denton, TXDenton is a fun place to live and visit. The downtown area offers a wide variety of activities and events to keep people entertained throughout the year, and from morning to night, you can always find something to do. Check into historic downtown Denton this summer for some entertainment and fun.

Twilight Tunes

For the 26th year, the Denton Main Street Association presents the award-winning concert series Twilight Tunes. Every Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. you can head to the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn for live music. Throughout the season the concerts alternate between the east and west side and admission is free. Make an evening out if it and bring all your friends. You can grab something to go from one of the downtown restaurants and bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on while you eat and listen to some great music.

Ready for Some Soccer?

Denton is now home to the semi-professional soccer team the Denton Diablos. The Diablos are part of the National Premier Soccer League’s Lone Star Conference and will host other teams at UNT’s Soccer Stadium. Soccer fans can now watch matches right in Denton and see what it takes to move up to the next level of the game. You can get a season pass and go to all the games this season, or buy a single ticket to check out the sport.

Live Jazz at the Greenhouse

Every Monday night from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., the Greenhouse Restaurant and Bar has live jazz music. For over 10 years, the Greenhouse has hosted local jazz musicians and allowed them to share their love of music with others. Make sure to get there early because drink specials start at 8 p.m., and you can also get some dinner before the show.

Denton Community Market

The Denton Community Market is a large farmers market in downtown Denton where you can get all kinds of fresh, local produce, and homemade treats. It runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from April to November. Along with the food, there is live music, activities for the kids, food trucks, and tons of food vendors. You’ll find the market right at the Denton County Historical Park at Carroll Blvd and Mulberry St. Shop for your weekly fresh fruits and veggies, and you can also get honey, homemade relishes, cheese, meat, bread, baked treats, eggs, and much more.

Tuesday Bike Night

Get outside on Tuesday nights and go for a bike ride. Tuesday Bike Night is Denton’s longest going social ride. All the rides are under ten miles, and you stay right within Denton. Most end right at the Square, and there is no drop ride, so no one gets left behind. Meet at the UNT Lang Building at 9:30 on Tuesday nights and get started on your ride at 9:45. Make sure you have a bike light and are ready for some fun.
