Whether you’re in the mood for Tex-Mex, burgers, or chef-inspired cuisine, there’s a restaurant somewhere in Denton that will satisfy you. Here are a few of our favorite hidden Denton eateries we like to frequent.

Taqueria Guanajuato

If you’re looking for Mexican food made right, head to Taqueria Guanajuato. This hole-in-the-wall taqueria serves up some of the best Mexican staples in town. Tortas, sopes, tacos, and burritos — this restaurant has all the basics to satisfy your hunger for delicious Mexican food. We suggest their great breakfast burritos in the morning or the steak-and-chile combination plate for dinner.

Old West Cafe

For a classic American diner experience, try the Old West Cafe. Since 2000, this family-friendly down-home restaurant has grown into a local favorite, and for good reason. You’ll find fantastic skillets and griddle creations for breakfast here, as well as an extensive lunch menu that features items such as chicken-fried steaks, Mamaw’s Meatloaf, and top-notch sandwiches. This restaurant closes at 2 p.m., so make sure you get there early enough to get the good stuff.

Yummy’s Greek Restaurant

For fans of Greek food, nothing is better than Yummy’s Greek Restaurant. And if you’ve never tried Greek food, this restaurant is a must-try. This unassuming restaurant has been in business since 1986, thanks to the delicious food that comes out of their kitchen. Moussaka, gyros, shish-kabobs, souvlaki, and more — Yummy’s has a menu that covers all your Greek favorites.

RG Burgers & Grill

One of the best places in town to get a burger is RG Burgers & Grill. This burger restaurant never disappoints. Go for the no-nonsense RG’s Classic burger or expand your horizons with the barbecue Smokey Joe Classic or fried-egg Brunch Burger. All of their burgers come with unlimited steak fries, and they also have chicken, fish, and hot dogs you should taste — after you try one of their burgers.

The Taste

The Taste is the place to go to get Korean food, or when you want something more interesting for lunch than an unimaginative sandwich. From bulgogi pork and chicken to Korean barbecue, the Taste is always reliably tasty. This small restaurant tucked away in a strip mall is certainly worth paying a visit to if you’re looking for Asian fare.

940’s Kitchen & Cocktails

940’s is where you go when you want a brunch worth writing home about. This modern cuisine-inspired restaurant is one of the hippest spots in Denton, and their food is thoughtfully crafted. Get the bananas foster French toast or classic eggs benedict for brunch, short rib grilled cheese for lunch, and the seared salmon for dinner.
