For 2020, this compact crossover received an upgraded horsepower, ample cargo volume, and all the extremely exciting interior amenities that are making a great impression on our neighbors in Corinth, Lewisville, McKinney, and Plano, Texas.

A Comfortable Interior and Expandable Cargo Volume

The new Kia Sportage is a two-row SUV whose interior draws inspirations from Audi crossover SUVs. It offers a total of 129.3 cubic feet of passenger space, enough to accommodate five spacious and comfortable seats. With 37.9 inches headroom and 41.5 inches legroom, the redesigned Sportage has enough space for full-grown adults.
Better still, 60/40 split-folding rear seats are available as standard, making it easier to create up to 60.1 cubic feet of cargo space for bulkier equipment. The EX and SX Turbo variants are furnished with a Smart Power Liftgate feature. Kia added this 17-step recline feature to help you expand the Kia Sportage cargo dimensions on demand.

Revolutionary Technology at the Forefront of Every Kia Sportage

While technology varies by trim, even the baseline LX configuration comes with a decent amount of latest tech components. Every Sportage crossover comes with the following technological elements as standard:

  • Android Auto™
  • Apple CarPlay™
  • 12-volt USB ports and Bluetooth®
  • 6-speaker audio system
  • An 8-inch touchscreen
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat

Of course, you can upgrade to higher trim levels if you wish to enjoy more fun and premium offerings. The Sportage S adds a Sport Steering wheel with paddle shifters, while the Sportage EX adds heated front seats with a leather-wrapped gear-shift knob. The Sportage SX Turbo, which occupies the pinnacle of the Kia Sportage trim levels, gains all of the features that are optional on lower trims.
As if not enough, higher-tier trims are available with UVO links for remote vehicle access using a well-matched smartphone. Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, this capability allows you to lock or unlock the vehicle remotely through voice commands. It also helps you cool down or warm up the vehicle before use.

Engine, Transmission, and EPA Rating

Standard on the LX, S, and EX trims is a 2.4-liter I-4 base engine, which generates 184 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to an electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission. According to the EPA, this base engine earns a 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway fuel economy rating.
Kia also offers a secondary engine on its Sportage model of 2020. Beneath the hood of the SX Turbo trim is a 2.0-liter I-4 turbo engine rated at 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine pairs with a six-speed automatic gearbox system.
On FWD, the 2.0-liter turbo engine achieves 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway EPA-estimated fuel economy rating. The fuel economy rating slightly drops when the AWD is activated, with EPA estimation of 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.
Overall, Kia’s newest Sportage is a must-drive vehicle that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. If you’re interested in learning more about this vehicle or want to schedule a test drive, we’ve got you covered. Contact us at Huffines Kia today to learn more!
