The Telluride is longer and wider than the popular Sorento and provides buyers looking for a three-row crossover with a more spacious option. Expect this new SUV to offer a lot of value and come equipped with the latest technology. Here are some of the reasons the 2020 Telluride should be your next SUV.

  1. The Power

Under the hood of the Telluride, you’ll find a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that delivers 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Kia pairs the V-6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available as an option. If you need your SUV to bring your boat or camper on your weekend getaways, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds when you equip the EX or SX with the tow package.

  1. The Interior Space

The standard configuration of the Telluride will fit up to eight passengers when you opt for the second-row bench seat. Keeping the captain’s chairs in the second row will reduce seating to seven. Both bench seats have a 60/40 split so you can adjust the amount of cargo and passenger space, and in the back, there are 21 cubic feet of cargo space with both rows up. Folding all the seats down will open up the cargo area to 87 cubic feet.

Cloth seats come standard, with leather in the EX and SX trims. The higher trims also get ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and acoustic glass for the front doors. The SX adds driver-seat memory functions and dual sunroofs.

  1. The Technology

You’ll get to enjoy the latest in entertainment technology in the Telluride. Even the base trim comes with an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio along with a USB port. The midlevel EX adds a 10.3-inch touch screen, an extra USB charging port, and a wireless charging pad, while the top-level SX comes with a 10-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound stereo. The EX also adds a driver voice amplifier for the rear seats so passengers back there can hear the driver.

  1. The Safety Features

Safety is essential when you have a full SUV, and the Telluride has lots of standard and optional safety systems. All models come with a rearview camera, lane keeping assist, forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic warning, and Kia’s drowsy driver system. Stepping up to the top-level SX gets you added safety systems. This trim comes standard with front parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, a blind-spot camera systems, and automatic high beams along with a low-level automated highway driving system.
The 2020 Telluride is an exciting addition to the Kia lineup. It has the extra space buyers with families need, the utility and towing power to get their gear where they need to go, and the technology and safety features to make the ride safe and fun.
