Wine Squared
Located in a 19th-century building in downtown Denton’s historic square, Wine Squared offers a wine list featuring over 120 bottles from around the world, with around 25 served by the glass. You and your partner can indulge in some serious wine tasting to learn about small production wineries, or just enjoy the flavors on offer.
A number of craft beers are also available from local breweries. Look out for special events such as the jazz nights, or Bring Your Own Vinyl nights where the DJ will play the music you love to set alight the flames of romance.
LSA Burger Co.
LSA stands for Lone Star Attitude, and the LSA Burger Company offers lovingly prepared burgers, and cold beer served with real Texas hospitality. The place is also about celebrating the musical heritage of Texas. Take your date up to the open-air rooftop patio to enjoy the live music sessions, and marvel at the murals on the walls by local artists. Or just relax and watch the sun going down.
Kwest
Dating isn’t a competition, but a little competitive spirit doesn’t hurt. Download Kwest on your phone and take the opportunity to explore Downtown Denton through location-based riddles, minigames, and augmented reality. It’s something different that you and your date can do which will get you working and moving together and learning new stuff about Denton as you go. You might even come across a new romantic wine bar or coffee shop on your quest.
Dan’s Silver Leaf
Taking your date to a gig at this super cool live music venue will certainly put romance on the menu. Local and international artists perform rock, blues, country, and jazz using the superb sound system. The atmosphere is easygoing, and during breaks in the music you can head out to the cute patio and enjoy the local brews. Tickets are $15 to $20 depending on the band.
Denton Community Theater
Getting dressed up and going to the theater is the classic romantic date. The Denton Community Theater is the most iconic in the city and has been providing theatrical experiences for over 40 years. There are some fabulous productions lined up for 2019, including “Annie,” “Fool for Love,” “Lend Me a Tenor,” and “Cats.”
Eastside
If you don’t want to get dressed up and you would prefer a more casual type of date night, Eastside might just be for you. They have 80 to 100 beers on tap, including around 60 from Texas. You can chill out with a beer at one of the picnic tables on the huge patio, indulge in some casual conversation, and see where the night takes you. When you get hungry, just visit one of the food trucks that are regularly on site.
Of course, you could go for dinner at one of Denton’s romantic restaurants, but for something a little different, try one of these date nights.
