Great American Cleanup

Kick off your spring cleaning by working in the community with the Great American Cleanup in Denton. This long-running event encourages residents to get their hands dirty while freshening up the town. You can pick up your supplies on Tuesday, March 21, and Wednesday, March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also get your things on the event day at 9 a.m., but many items are first come, first served. Supplies include official T-shirts, disposable gloves, trash bags, recycling bags, onion bags, litter pick-up sticks, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen, so you’ll be fully equipped for the day.

After cleaning up the town, participants can attend the volunteer appreciation party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This includes a free lunch from In-N-Out Burger and frozen desserts. Volunteers can also enjoy face painting, bounce houses, yard games, a live DJ, vendors, giveaways, and prizes.

Art of Recovery Banquet

The Art of Recovery Banquet is an essential fundraiser for Solutions of North Texas. Solutions provides addiction treatment to men and women regardless of their ability to pay. Generous donors at events like this allow Solutions to continue its mission of serving Denton through its six treatment programs.

The banquet will include live entertainment, including live artist John Bramblitt. Tiffany Jenkins from Juggling the Jenkins will serve as the keynote speaker for the evening. You can participate in both live and silent auctions, enjoy a fabulous meal, and even say hello to the visiting puppy. Tickets start at $125, and tables are $1,250. A Texas Tradition Rodeo

The Texas Tradition Rodeo, presented by the Texas Gay Rodeo Association, promotes men and women living the Western lifestyle and participating in the rodeo sport. This is a full rodeo event with participants from around the country and across the continent. The rodeo will include several events, such as bull riding, bareback bronc riding, steer riding, chute dogging, roping, pole bending, barrel racing, and flag racing. The rodeo also includes more playful camp events like steer decorating, goat dressing, and a wild drag race.

Tickets for the rodeo are $15 per person, and single-vehicle parking is $5 per vehicle.

Denton Makers Fest

Denton Makers supports local artists, including bands, restaurateurs, visual artists, small businesses, and other creatives. The Denton Makers Fest showcases the best of the area with a small business showcase, food trucks, craft drinks, and more. Attendees can browse the juried art show, get some ink from the flash tattoo artists, take in local music, and explore works from numerous local creators. 

The Makers Fest gathers these artists on the block between Rubber Gloves and the Greater Denton Arts Council. This is a family-friendly event, and there’s no charge to drop in and enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Denton.

DCMGA Garden Tour

Each year, the Denton County Master Gardener Association hosts a local tour that offers a stunning look at some of the best blooms in the area. The tour includes information on landscape design, the importance of native and adapted plants, and shade gardening. Participants can also enjoy fun extras, such as a scavenger hunt and arts and crafts booths from local creators. 

This tour has several locations, so it’s best to have a reliable vehicle to help you enjoy the day. If your vehicle is due for repairs or a tune-up, schedule your service or order parts from our team before you head out on any springtime driving tours. 

This tour includes the Hidden Cottage Garden in Denton, Red Rock Crossing in Lake Dallas, the Wildlife Waystation in Oak Point, and the Hundred Woods Acre in Oak Point. You can plan your day to finish up at the market, where you’ll find goods from Master Gardeners that are ideally suited to outfitting your Texas landscape and enhancing your local garden. You must have a ticket to enter the market.

Tickets for the tour are $15 in advance or $20 on the day. Children aged 12 and under are free.
