Ice cream in a cone starting to meltThere are many ways to stay cool as the summer heat approaches, but the sweetest by far is found in the form of ice cream, whether it’s scooped, swirled, or shaken. The next time you crave a cold treat, head to one of these unique ice cream spots in Denton.

Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream

If you are feeling nostalgic, stop by Beth Marie’s, located on the south side of Denton’s Historic Square. When you walk into Beth Marie’s, you’ll step into an old-fashioned ice cream soda fountain, with the smell of freshly made waffle cones and bar stool seating. To add to the nostalgia, a machine from 1927 makes every batch of Beth Marie’s ice cream. Don’t underestimate its age, though; this machine makes 10 gallons of ice cream in 18 minutes
With over 120 total flavors and each store serving up to 64 flavors that change seasonally, even the pickiest ice cream connoisseurs will find an ice cream flavor to enjoy at Beth Marie’s. Go for a classic vanilla cone or try The Bee’s Knees, a honey and lavender ice cream.

In addition to the original parlor, you can find Beth Marie’s ice cream at many hotels and restaurants in the Denton area.

7 Degrees Fahrenheit

Looking for a new ice cream experience? Dig your spoon into rolled ice cream at 7 Degrees Fahrenheit. Choose from pre-created combinations or let your inner child free when creating your own mixtures. Select a base flavor and pick from 12 mix-in ingredients to create your ice cream rolls. You can top the rolls with fruits, candy, or nuts and add a final drizzle of sauce to complete your masterpiece.
While you’re there, be sure to watch the ice cream artists at work as they craft each order. Experience rolled ice cream for yourself by visiting 7 Degrees Fahrenheit, located at 103 Ave A.

Yogurt Bliss

Yogurt Bliss offers many types of frozen yogurt and toppings to satisfy any craving. Unlike other frozen yogurt spots, though, Yogurt Bliss offers their special Muggle Shakes and Muggle Cones.
Served in a hearty glass mug, befitting to its name, Muggle Shakes are frozen yogurt shakes beautifully topped with your guilty pleasures. Your Muggle Shake could be topped with whipped cream, a chocolate bar and a toasted marshmallow (another summertime classic). Or, it could be topped with a cookie or a piece of cake. You’ll want to snap a picture or two of the charming shakes to share with your friends.
For a more classic experience with a twist, try a Muggle Cone, flavored artisan cones filled with your favorite frozen yogurt and toppings. Have your appetite ready when you stop into Yogurt Bliss, located at 5017 Teasley Lane #129 in Denton.
This summer, when those ice cream cravings hit, grab your family or some friends to experience new flavors. An ice cream outing, after all, is the perfect pairing to a lazy afternoon or a breezy summer evening.
