Fall is just around the corner. Dallas already has plenty of exciting fall events planned. Here are a few of the best to look forward to.
Addison Oktoberfest
You do not have to leave the country to celebrate Oktoberfest. You can stay right in the Dallas area by visiting the Munich-inspired Oktoberfest of Addison. This celebration is scheduled for Sept. 20 to 23, 2018 at the Addison Circle Park. Visitors will enjoy the authentic German flavors of local restaurants including Siegi’s Sausage Factory, Draught Haus, and Zamykal Gourmet Foods.
There will also be plenty of entertainment at the event including carnival rides, photo taking opportunities, and live music. Dress in your favorite German-themed clothing and plan for one of the best Oktoberfest celebrations in the state.
State Fair of Texas
The annual State Fair of Texas is scheduled for Sept. 28 to Oct. 21, 2018. This event has attracted thousands of guests since it was initially founded in 1886. The fair aims to bring awareness to local education, agriculture, and Texas tradition. The event is one of the longest running festivals in the country and includes live music, an auto show, carnival rides, live demonstrations, and some mouth-watering Texan foods.
You can purchase your tickets at the gate or invest in a season pass for just $65. The season pass gets you admittance to the fair all season long. You can also pick up discounted tickets from local Dallas stores.
State Fair Showdown Classic
Dallas takes their football very seriously. The State Fair Showdown Classic is a popular tradition in the Dallas area. This football match takes place at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas, on Oct. 20, 2018. Texas Southern and Southern University will go head to head in a historic match. This is the debut appearance for both teams and will be the kickoff to the football season. Tickets are between $25 and $40 and include game day admission to the State Fair of Texas.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a great Dallas fall destination. The entire arboretum and botanical garden is transformed into a fall-inspired space. With large pumpkins and costumed characters, this is the perfect spot to get in the fall mood. The arboretum also hosts a special music series in the garden that runs every Thursday until Oct. 26, 2018. The pumpkin village and edible garden are open until Nov. 22, 2018.
Dallas Fan Days
Dallas Fan Days brings together the most extreme of comic book, movie, and TV show fans. The event is from Oct. 19 to 21, 2018, at the Irving Convention Center in Dallas. The event has something for everyone including fan expos, gaming rooms, and celebrity guests. Of course, one of the best parts of attending the event is to dress in your favorite fan outfits. Attendees compete by attempting to recreate the most detailed of costumes.
The entertainment of Dallas does not stop once summer ends. There are many events in the fall that are worth checking out. Get your tickets early and get ready for a memorable and exciting fall season.
