There are lots of fun things you can do that are completely free, helping you stay on budget and still have fun in the process. Here are four awesome activities we think you’ll love.
Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center
If you’re looking for some fun outdoors, Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center is always the perfect place. The center, located right in Denton, is a gateway to more than 2,900 acres of bottomland hardwood forest. Here, you’ll find designated hiking trails that are family-friendly and take you on a complete tour of the forest and the wildlife found within. Speaking of which, during your hike, there’s a good chance you’ll find everything from waterfowl to beavers, creatures you don’t typically see.
You can also schedule a professional tour of the forest by contacting the center’s tour guides. All of this is completely free and a great way to get some fresh air.
Parks and Trails
Of course, Clear Creek isn’t the only place where you can spend some time outdoors for free. Denton is home to various different parks, playgrounds, and walking trails perfect for groups, family members, or just you and a friend. In the area, you’ll find Avondale Park, MLK Jr. Recreational Center Park, South Lakes Park and Eureka Playground, Bowling Green Park and Community Garden, McKenna Park, and many more. A majority of locations also have hiking and biking trails, and you can even camp out at some if you’d like.
